Programs
* Learn to Skate USA or USA Hockey current annyal membership is required. This membership runs from July 1 through June 30th.
* Your skater's ice time will be emailed by Thursday, July 3. Tentative division of classes will be skaters who have passed basic 4 or 5 will be at 4:30-6:30 and skaters who are beginners through the passed Basic 3, will be at 5:30-6:30. Exact class times will be determined by enrollment numbers.
* Skate rentals are included with registration. Plastic and expandable skates are not recommended for the skills that are taught in the basic skills lessons. Standard style figure and hockey skates are preferred.
* During 5:30-6:30, the ice surface is divided with the youngest beginners at the entrance end, more advanced skaters in the center section, and hockey skills at the Zamboni end beyond the divider. Learn to skate groups will have a 30 minute group lesson and 30 minutes of practice time. The maximum group size is 10 skaters per coach. Some groups will have junior coaches assisting the primary coach.
* On the last week of class, skaters will be evaluated, and skaters will receive a patch if they satisfactorily complete all skills on their level. At the instructor's discretion, skaters may be evaluated prior to the last week, and moved to a new group mid-session to best match their current skill level. It often requires more than one session to pass a skill level and advanced levels can often take a full year, depending upon how much time a skater devotes to practicing between lessons.
